The Basics

Testicular cancer is on the rise, and is now the most common form of cancer among males age 15 to 35. Cancer is the leading cause of death in this age group, after highway accidents and suicide. The good news: testicular cancer has one of the highest survival rates of any cancer.

Caucasian American males have the highest risk of this cancer, most often in the 20 - 54 age group. Other risk factors include the presence of an undescended testicle, and HIV and/or AIDS infection.

Performing a testicular self-exam is easy - see our tasteful video link under More Resources to the right.

A surprising fact is that women, who of course have no testicles, can contract an identical disease, primary thymic seminoma.
